Technology
When it comes to precise diagnosis and treatment, we strive to offer our patients the best technology science has devised. That's why we've equipped our office with some of the finest dental technologies available including:

  • Digital Radiographs (Xrays):
We utilize the newest type of dental radiographs known as “Digital Radiographs”. These are computerized digital radiographic images of your mouth and teeth that are stored in the computer when they are taken. They can be instantly viewed on the computer monitor and can be computer enhanced and magnified to better display any decay, abscess, bone loss or any other problem that may be present. One major advantage to Digital Radiography is that it uses only 20% of the radiation that traditional xrays require, greatly reducing your exposure to xray radiation.
  • Computerized Charting:
Every patient record is now securely stored on our computer. The ease in which we can store, retrieve and compare information makes treatment much easier. We now have more information at our fingertips available to answer all your questions regarding insurance information, your specific treatment needs or about treatment for one of your family members.
  • Intra-oral Camera:
“A picture is worth a thousand words.” With our Intra-oral Digital Camera, you will be able to see what your mouth or even individual teeth look like close-up. The Intra-oral camera handpiece is approximately the size and shape of a dental mirror. It has a built-in light source, so it gives us easy-to-see video and still pictures. The image from the camera is instantly displayed on a computer monitor so you can see what Dr. Burks sees. This will allow you to better understand the condition of your mouth so you can make more informed decisions regarding your dental treatment. We want you to be a fully informed patient before you make any decision regarding your dental care.
  • Sterilization Techniques:
One of the benefits of a brand new office is brand new equipment. Our state of the art Sterilization Center provides a system for thoroughly cleaning, sterilizing and storing our instruments. We use a cassette system to organize and store our instruments similar to what is used in hospitals. These sterile packets are opened just prior to seating the patient in the operatory. Disposable barriers are also used whenever possible to help protect each patient from cross contamination. Ask us to show you what we do behind the scenes to help protect your health.
  • ZOOM! Whitening.
As seen on “Extreme Makeover”. ZOOM! Whitening makes it possible to achieve a whiter, brighter smile – right here in our office.
Feel good and look great with a brighter smile ….in about an hour! More and more patients are enjoying the benefits of “instant” whitening. This is a great first step towards the smile you’ve always wanted.

A special light is shined onto the teeth after they have been coated with a whitening gel. The light works with the gel to release oxygen. The oxygen penetrates the outer enamel layer and then the dentin layer of the teeth, bleaching away stains and discolored areas.

Power whitening is a safe and effective technology that can help give you a beautiful new smile, all in one appointment.

  • Invisalign:
Braces used to be the only way to straighten teeth affected by malocclusion or a bad bite. But now, we have a system called Invisalign that allows us to straighten your teeth without using the brackets and wires of traditional braces. Now you can wear braces without anyone knowing it! Whether your teeth are crowded, too far apart or have shifted since wearing braces, Invisalign can help

The patented Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually reposition teeth. We’ve chosen to offer the Invisalign system because the aligners are more visually appealing than braces. They are virtually invisible! They’re also removable, which makes it easier to clean your teeth after eating. The aligners are smooth and comfortable, and they don’t irritate your gums, cheek, or tongue. The Invisalign system also eliminates an allergic reactions that you may experience to metal.
After an initial examination, Dr. Burks will decide if Invisalign is right for you.
